IWCC certificates are issued in strict compliance with the ISO 9712:2021 system. ISO 9712:2021 is the core standard for qualification and certification of non-destructive testing (NDT) personnel issued by the International Organization for Standardization. It has been equivalently adopted in China as GB/T 9445—2024, and is recognized globally as an authoritative framework for professional competence certification in the industry. This system covers the mainstream non-destructive testing methods in the industrial field, including:
· Acoustic Emission Testing (AET)
· Eddy Current Testing (ET)
· Leak Testing (LT, excluding hydrostatic pressure testing)
· Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
· Penetrant Testing (PT)
· Radiographic Testing (RT)
· Strain Testing (ST)
· Thermographic Testing (TIR)
· Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
· Visual Testing (VT, excluding direct visual testing)
It also applies to new non-destructive testing technologies for which international, regional or national standards have been established. Through a rigorous qualification process, this system ensures that certified personnel possess the corresponding professional and technical capabilities to perform non-destructive testing competently. It promotes the adoption of unified personnel competence standards across the industry, facilitating global technical mutual recognition.
As an ISO international standard, ISO 9712 certificates are widely recognized in industries such as offshore engineering, shipbuilding, petroleum, and machinery manufacturing, particularly meeting the certification requirements of overseas clients.
